Microsoft Intune is an MDM (Mobile Device Management) and MAM (Mobile Application Management) provider for your organisation’s devices. It’s cloud based and can be used with any Microsoft 365 products.
When a device is enrolled with Microsoft Intune, an organisation cannot see personal information on that device. The organisation will gain permission to view certain pieces of information about the device, such as the device’s model and serial number, but the information is limited and the organisation won’t have full access to personal data.
Not only can you configure how devices are used, but you can also apply specific policies to the use of applications. For example, you can enable access to a defined collection of apps for certain groups of individuals within your organisation. Or you could allow personal devices to be used at work as well as home.
You can ensure that personal devices comply with your safety systems and precautions, isolating personal and organisation owned devices by implementing app protection policies.
Benefits of implementing Microsoft Intune include:
- It’s a cloud based service, so you don’t need any additional hardware
- Intune is part of Microsoft’s Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) suite, an intelligent mobility management and security platform
- It’s configurable so that personal and business devices can be isolated, to reduce the risk of data compromise
Intune can be used alongside the Microsoft 365 suite

"Working with IT Backbone was and continues to be an outstanding experience, an MSP who continuously supports our infrastructure and provides a reliable backbone on a day to day basis for our services, support and escalations. Our latest project with IT Backbone entailed implementing and hosting our very own Virtualised HA Environment; this works flawlessly in conjunction with our gaming providers at the Casino"
